Accounting Specialist – Manufacturing
Lorain OH
Hybrid/Partial Remote after 90 days
 
Responsibilities:
 

• 
  
• Maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable financial records and reports.
  
• Performing account reconciliations.
  
• Assisting with the close process.
  
• Work cross-functionally with other departments such as sales, production, etc.
  
• Work Globally with other divisions of the company
  
• Assist the Accounting Manager as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.
  
• Enter invoices (3-way match)
  
• Maintain extremely organized records of all vendors, customers, and payments
  
• Process checks and wires in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  
• Maintain check log of incoming checks
  
• Monitor tax liabilities and ensure tax liabilities are paid on time
  
• Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure accuracy
  
• Perform monthly journal entries and assist with the month end close
  
• Coordinate collection activities, with support from the team, including calls and emails to customers, and internal escalations as required for problem accounts
  
• Promptly respond to phone calls and emails
  
• Compile data and prepare a variety of reports
  
• Support in ERP upgrade project and other digitalization projects such as AP workflow
  
• Other ad hoc projects as assigned
  
   
   Requirements
  
  • 
    
  • 2+ years of A/P and A/R experience
    
  • Degree preferred but will consider “hands on” relevant experience in lieu of degree
    
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently
    
  • High attention to detail
    
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
    
  • Ability to implement process improvements
    
  • Demonstrate drive, commitment, and adaptability
    
  • Ability to analyze data
    
  • Act with integrity
    
  • Ability to apply instructions and guidelines given by manager
    
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
    
  • Communicate effectively and meet deadlines
    
  • MUST be willing to work onsite for 90 days for training. There is the ability to work remote 2 days per/week but not guaranteed
