This a key role that will assist R&D engineers in new product development and testing. What You Will Do The R&D Technician provides technical support to engineers and scientists in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Responsibilities include: - Utilize schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. - Gather, maintain, format, compile and manipulate technical data using established formulae and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations. - Work in Machine R&D laboratory assisting multiple projects in the design, construction, and testing of welding products. - Use data acquisition system, computers, and CAD as required. Assist in the preparation of documentation. - Operate basic lab equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, temperature recorders, etc. (Training provided as needed). - Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy. Experience & Education Requirements - Technician II: Vocational Training and 3 years experience required; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5 years in related field. (But does not require a university degree). - Technician III: Vocational training and 5 years of experience in a relevant work environment is required; OR High School Diploma/GED with 7 years experience in a relevant work environment. - Familiarity with computer software including Windows operating system. - Ability to use common laboratory equipment, read and comprehend wiring diagrams, schematics and test specifications. - Working knowledge of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes. - Ability to organize and maintain a neat work area. - Able to maintain detailed test records. - Ability to work on multiple projects with supervision and clear instruction. - Capable of lifting 50 pounds on an occasional basis. - Good hands-on assembly and troubleshooting skills. - Easy to get along in a group and team environment. - Electrical/electronic experience is a plus. - Good attendance record.
