Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Description: THIS IS AN ON-SITE
POSITION LOCATED IN AURORA, OHIO About Us LayerZero Power Systems
Inc. is a globally recognized leader in providing state-of-the-art
power distribution solutions for critical industries. With a strong
focus on reliability, innovation, and customer satisfaction, we
deliver advanced power systems products that ensure uninterrupted
and dependable power supply in mission-critical environments. Our
customer base is comprised of companies in the data center (our
main focus), financial, computer service provision, and
semiconductor manufacturing sectors. LayerZero Power Systems is on
a trajectory of sustained growth, with a loyal customer base of
existing Fortune 100 customers and an expanding portfolio of new
customers. We are looking for a high-impact Quality Engineer to
join our manufacturing team. This isn’t a "clipboard and lab coat"
role. We need a hands-on engineer who thrives on the production
floor, understands the complexity of electrical distribution
equipment, and possesses a relentless bias to action. You will be
the bridge between design intent and manufacturing reality, using
Six Sigma methodology and ISO 9001 standards to ensure that every
unit leaving our facility is a benchmark of reliability. What
Success Looks Like In this role, your success is measured by
outcomes, not just activities. In your first year, you will: Drive
Root Cause Excellence: Lead cross-functional teams through the
DMAIC process to identify and eliminate the primary drivers of
scrap and rework. Champion Data-Driven Action: Move beyond
anecdotal problem-solving by implementing Statistical Process
Control (SPC) across critical-to-quality (CTQ) electrical
verification testing. Ensure Perpetual Audit-Readiness: Maintain
our QMS to a standard where ISO 9001 surveillance audits are a
seamless reflection of our daily discipline. Accelerate Response
Times: Reduce the lead time for Corrective and Preventive Actions
(CAPA) by acting decisively when quality escapes occur. Who You Are
Expert Problem Solver: You don’t just find problems; you engineer
them out of existence. You are proficient in Fishbone diagrams,
FMEAs, and 5-Why analysis. Analytical Rigorous: You have a
"data-first" mindset. You are comfortable performing Cpk and Ppk
analyses to prove process capability. Bias to Action: You prefer
being on the shop floor over sitting in a cubicle. When the line
stops, you are the first person there, leading the containment and
resolution effort. Technically Grounded: You can interpret complex
electrical schematics and one-line diagrams as easily as a standard
operating procedure. Requirements: Experience: 5–10 years of
progressive experience in a manufacturing quality role (experience
with build-to-order electrical equipment is a significant plus).
Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electronics
Engineering. Certification: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
required. Standards: Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
Familiarity with UL or IEEE standards is highly preferred. Tools:
Proficiency in Minitab or similar statistical software and
experience with ERP systems. Knowledge of Six Sigma tools. Strong
attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills with the
ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within
strict time frames. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; pivot
tables, statistical trending, data analysis etc. Demonstrated
analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills: ASQ CQE Certification Electrical assembly
experience Excellent documentation skills Strong attention to
detail Statistical software knowledge (Minitab) Ability to navigate
an array of computer programs. Experience in an ISO 9001:2015
manufacturing environment. Industry Quality (PPAP, ISO/TS) and
Advanced Product Quality Planning experience. Physical
Requirements: Must have the ability to read assembly drawings and
follow directions. Must be able to lift and handle heavy parts up
to 30 lbs. Must be able to sit and or stand for extended time
periods. Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, or climb a stepladder
while working. Must have good vision to inspect parts and
assemblies. Education: BS in Engineering (electrical/electronic
preferred) with 2 years of experience in quality-related operations
OR 5 years of quality-related experience What We Offer: Competitive
pay with performance incentives 100% company-paid medical, dental,
and vision 401(k) with company match 3 weeks PTO, 8 paid holidays,
and 2 floating holidays Why You Will Love Working with Us : Impact:
Develop your skills and expertise in a rapidly growing industry,
with your work directly influencing the success of mission-critical
projects. Innovation: Immerse yourself in an environment that
celebrates forward-thinking and continuous improvement.
Collaborative spirit: Work closely with engineers, marketers, and
other professionals to bring ideas to life. Grow with us: We are
committed to your personal and professional development, offering
endless opportunities to improve your skills and advance your
career At LayerZero, we are proud to be an Equal Opportunity
Employer. We welcome and celebrate diversity, and we are committed
