Job Description:
Primary PurposeLorain County Health & Dentistry is seeking a
full-time Chief Medical Officer to join our leadership team. The
CMO is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating the
medical care component for 7 service sites and for providing direct
care to the target population. The CMO delivers and maintains
leadership to medical providers in Pediatrics, OB, Internal &
Family Medicine, and Specialty Care. Reporting directly to the CEO,
the CMO is an active participant of the leadership team and works
closely with other members to offer input on the selection of
clinical measures and processes for improvement, as well as the
organization's use of the EHR.
Skills & RequirementsThe qualified candidate will be a Board
Certified MD or DO with a current, unrestricted Ohio medical
license. 5 or more years of administrative experience is preferred,
as well as experience in working with underserved populations.
Knowledge and understanding of leadership and management functions
relative to the role of CMO is essential. The CMO must have
effective interpersonal skills, including the abilities to listen
and communicate, inspire and encourage, and teach and develop. The
CMO must support the organization's mission, and establish a course
for achieving strategic goals. Experience is required in the use of
an EHR, as is knowledge of quality systems, and use of data to
improve clinical outcomes and make necessary system/process
improvements.
