Join us!Excited to grow your career?The PAC Program Manager/Lorain Plant Manager will coordinate and manage projects and processes that support growth, enhance capabilities, reduce cost, and improve performance in Performance Alloys & Composites (PAC) manufacturing facilities. The individual will ensure facilities have Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in place and monitor execution against the KPIs. He/she will assist in developing operations, capital, and program budgets, and monitor performance against budget in all these areas. The individual will represent operations on cross functional business teams. He/she will direct and coordinate the daily operations of the Lorain manufacturing plant. The individual will drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes - including developing efficiency strategies to ensure the plant meets production goals and standards at minimal manufacturing costs while meeting customer quality requirements. He/she will also be responsible for upholding a safe, environmentally responsible, and issue free work environment. The successful candidate will have the key skills to develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity. You will have the opportunity to:Manage programs and projects that cross multiple PAC facilities or significantly enhance PAC capabilitiesDevelop new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization.Manage program and project teams for optimal return-on-investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiativesAssist in developing the PAC annual operating and capital budgets.Monitor capital spend across PAC to ensure projects are initiated and completed in a timely fashion in compliance with the goals established in the budget process. Improve standardized metrics (KPIs) for all PAC facilities.Evaluate Management Operating Systems for all PAC facilities and develop a One Materion System that ensures standard practice from facility to facility but allows flexibility for each facility to adapt to their specific needsDemonstrate outstanding leadership in the following ways:Lead and drive a culture of safety; maintain a safe, clean facility and comply with federal, state, local and corporate safety and environmental policies and regulations.Train, coach and motivate employees to consistently achieve or exceed performance standards.Encourage and develop each employee to achieve their highest level of proficiency.Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff. Ensure positive, proactive employee relations.Provide overall direction and guidance to the site operation with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability.Direct staffing and development of hourly and salaried team members and create an environment with high morale, where engaged team members are motivated to produce high-quality, low-cost products in a timely manner; interact with all employees directly or through direct reports on a regular basis. Frequent presence on the manufacturing floor.Manage production costs and product quality and modify programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation.Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.Establish and maintain a positive community relationship. Maintain contact with civic and business leaders and participate in organizations with company interest.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering field, Production/Operations management, technical or business-related field.5+ years of proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrated progression of increased responsibilities.Formal education / training in Lean and Six Sigma manufacturing principles are a plus.The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
