Job Description:
Scope of Position: The Senior Project Manager is responsible for
successfully executing projects for clients and providing
leadership to the entire project team. Must be self-driven, have
excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability
to interact professionally and effectively at all levels. Must be
able to plan, organize, estimate, direct and coordinate technical
work, obtain cooperation from others, and work on several projects
simultaneously. This position is similar to the Project Manager
with responsibilities for larger, more complex projects. Project
execution including proposal development and presentation,
management of project resources, project budgets and forecasting,
schedule management, project engineering, installation, start-up
and project closure. Reports to the President, Vice President, or
Division Manager for functional guidance and direction. Duties and
Responsibilities: --- Maintain contact with clients. Meet regularly
with existing clients to discuss current projects, evaluate firm
performance, and identify other business opportunities either with
them or through referrals; --- Assist clients with project
viability, payback, and justification; --- Manage client
expectations; --- Develop business potential through client contact
and active promotion of the capabilities and availability of the
firm; --- Recruit, train, develop, and mentor project managers,
engineers and support staff; --- Assemble project team and delegate
tasks and responsibilities to the appropriate team members; ---
Accountable for overall project implementation and quality
assurance; --- Coordinate projects with efficiency and cost
effectiveness; --- Manage budgets as required and hold team
accountable to meet quality expectations, delivery dates and
project milestones; --- Schedule, document and conduct periodic
reviews of the project with respect to schedule, construction cost,
and profit plan; --- Regularly update project forecast, manage the
project team to achieve project objectives, and provide direction
to the team; --- Work with engineering and design team to quantify
technical requirements, staffing needs, and deliverables; ---
Identify project risks and work with team to mitigate issues; ---
Develop, improve, and utilize workflows, systems, policies and
procedures that support PTS objectives and best practices; ---
Coordinate and develop engineering estimates, proposals, and
project cost estimates; --- Communicating plan and schedule
changes, alternate work assignments, change orders and scope
revisions to the project team and client; --- Coordinate billing
and the collection of receivables; --- Ensure project deliverables
are on time and take corrective actions to address project
deviations; --- Develop, evaluate, and qualify, and contract with
outside resources; --- Coordinate internal resources as well as
external resources; --- Participate in the evaluation of personnel
assigned to projects; --- Mediate disagreements between disciplines
and makes decisions always with regard to the best interests of the
project and the firm; --- Assist in dispute negotiation,
arbitration, or litigation; --- Responsible for coordinating
project closeout and customer documentation. --- Travel may be
required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Engineering (PE
preferred) with minimum ten years of experience; Proficiency with
MS Office including Word, Excel and MS Project; Familiarity with
CAD software functions and abilities, preferably AutoCAD Employment
