Join our exceptional team and help us continue to provide the highest quality of health care possible to our communities.SummaryThe Nuclear Medicine Tech is committed to applying the skills and art of nuclear medicine imaging through safe and effective use of radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment.Essential Job Functions Administers radionuclide therapy. Prepares, performs QC, and dispenses radiopharmaceuticals for off hour procedures. Performs urgent Nuclear Medicine procedures in an on-call status or in a single technologist staffing model Checks the order for complete information and proper exam and schedules exams as needed. Obtains sufficient information to determine whether the exam should be performed immediately or within a specific time frame. Determines if additional technical support is required and follows the proper procedure for obtaining support. Adheres to established section and organizational protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Interacts appropriately with patients and all care providers.Imaging Procedures Coordinates the imaging room to coincide with the examination being performed to include the use of proper isolations precautionswhen needed. Reviews images to determine if they are of diagnostic quality and adjusts factors if an image needs to be repeated. Starts and maintains intravenous (IV) access as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner. Identifies, prepares, and/or administers medications as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
