Job Description:
Position Summary New River Electrical is looking for a qualified
Training Coordinator with knowledge in the construction industry.
As the Training Coordinator, you will support the Safety function
and their projects. The Training Coordinator will be responsible
for designing, delivering, and ensuring the effectiveness of safety
training programs . In this role you will ensure the training
programs created meet OSHA standards and help to mitigate risk for
the company. You will also create, monitor and track the training
schedules and reports while informing employees of what is required
and how and where to attend. In this role you will partner with
Training Specialist, Training Coordinator II and Training Manager
to provide training recommendations and insights on the current
programs. This position reports to the Training Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities Partner with the Training Specialist and
create training schedules, track and create reports on outcomes of
all training and assist in maintaining training records for the
company. Inform employees on scheduled training and track their
progress. Procure training venues in advance of training courses.
Provide and/or assist to provide snacks, meals, drinks, etc. for
training classes. Train new and existing employees on company
safety policies and procedures, OSHA regulations, and safety and
health guidelines and use the best training methods for a specific
purpose or audience. Gather and evaluate information from employees
and management on previous training to identify weaknesses and
areas that need additional training, share the findings with
Training Specialist and Training Coordinator II to discuss next
steps. Recommend training materials and methods, order and maintain
in-house training equipment and facilities and manage the budget
set for training. Deliver compliance training in accordance with
any federal, state, and local safety laws - in addition to any
regulations; codes; rules; best practices; customer specific
T&C's; and all company policies. Partner with the Training
Specialist with the completion of all clients required
training/orientation for both safety and environmental. Regularly
conduct mandatory safety, health, and cultural training throughout
the company. Conduct jobsite observations and coach & correct where
needed - with anonymity for any employee(s) discuss observed trends
and opportunities for improvement during classes. Qualifications
A.S. required, Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Safety
Engineering, Environmental Health, and/or professional
certification (CSP, CUSP, etc.) preferred, plus hands on experience
in the construction field with preference toward utility plus at
least two (2) years of occupational health and safety experience in
an industrial environment preferred. Prior experience performing
employee based training required; ET&D Partnership train the
trainer, preferred - OSHA 500 should be a prerequisite before the
forementioned is obtained. Intermediate knowledge of current
company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety. and
Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Knowledge in electrical
transmission and distribution construction required. Excellent
written and verbal communication skills. Ability to conduct
training. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Travel
Travel for this position is required mostly limited to the
geographical area the role supports and overnight stays will be
approximately 50% annually. Physical Demands The physical demands
described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this
job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to talk and give speeches in a public setting
and have good hearing and listening skills. The employee is
required to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged
periods of time. The employee must have good overall health and
work into the evening hours when the situation requires. Must be
able to lift and carry items approximately 30 lbs. Other Duties
