The Intake Specialist is responsible for collecting and confirming
insurance information on clients who are in the Intake process
while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality. The Intake
Specialist is also responsible for entering data into the computer,
as well as prioritizing multiple tasks and daily office duties.

Duties/Responsibilities: Provides intake services, including by not
limited to: confirming insurance information on clients new to the
Agency, explaining available services, engaging clients, families
and other parties as needed.
Performs recordkeeping and copying of necessary information,
dissemination to appropriate individuals within the agency and any
outside agencies based on departmental requirements.
Accurately enters all intake information from packets or calls into
the database system.
Performs related administrative responsibilities; maintains and
completes related reports, paperwork, records, and other documents;
responds to emails and phone calls in a timely manner; attends
various trainings and meetings; communicates with other agencies,
departments, and vendors regarding required paperwork, contract
compliance and consults with other county agencies and/or
supportive services as necessary.
Answers incoming calls, and either routes the call to the
appropriate person or takes messages as necessary.
Produces required departmental reports, letters, and all other
related documents for department personnel or program
standards.
May be involved in the planning, organization and implementation of
special events or department specific projects or seasonal program
changes.
Maintains the confidentiality of client or collateral interaction
within Agency defined standards.
Participates in staff trainings, supervisory and staff
meetings.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Exhibits positivity, flexibility and a willingness to provide in
service training and take on new responsibilities as requested or
required. Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of the structure and
content of the English language including the meaning and spelling
of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft
Office Suite, and basic database usage, as well as moderate level
typing.
Knowledge of proper use of office equipment including phones,
copiers, and fax machines.
Strong critical thinking and communication skills to problem solve
and interact verbally with staff, representatives from outside
agencies and families.
Exceptional customer service skills as work is generally performed
at a desk and on the phone.
Organizational skills and attention to detail. Performance/Physical
Requirements: Work environment is based in an office setting and
consist of walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting up to 25
lbs. and remaining in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Qualifications: Minimum educational level is a High School Diploma
or GED*; Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), Evolv
preferred.
Experience working with children, youth and families; office
experience and insurance billing experience is preferred.
Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record
and valid insurance.
Ability to take and pass a physical exam and drug screening.
Employment is contingent upon clear results of a thorough
background check.
