This Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health position provides behavioral health therapy to the early childhood population and provides some consultation as well. This consultation portion of this position is responsible for providing Prevention Early Intervention (PEI) services to families and early learning centers of children ages 0-8 years. You will utilize IECMH consultation to provide interventions to strengthen the competencies of caregivers, parents and educators that promote healthy social and emotional development in young children. Flexible scheduling is available.Watch why it is GREAT to work for us!EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONRequired:Minimum Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, early childhood or related fieldLSW or LPC or licensure eligiblePreferredMinimum of two years direct experience with the early childhood populationExperience in mental health counseling (may include internship)ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide child/family-centered consultation when educators or parents have concerns regarding the social-emotional development of a particular child.Establish relationships with early learning centers and provide ongoing classroom support to strengthen the competencies of early educators and decrease expulsion rates.Work with parents and educators to develop and oversee the implementation of action plans (individually or classroom-focused) that identify appropriate interventions for a child/ren to support social and emotional skill-building.Make referrals of children and their families to appropriate services.Provide learning opportunities for educators and families to help them develop new skills that willenable them to understand and more effectively support the social-emotional development of children,including those identified with behavioral issues (i.e. may include observation, professionaldevelopment, modeling, etc.).Collaborate with community agencies and establish working relationships within the communitiesserved.Provide initial and ongoing assessment, counseling and clinical interventions to a designated caseload.Provide individual, group and family psychotherapy interventions.Integrate Trauma Informed Care practices while working with persons served.Communicate with relevant internal and external care providers to complete ongoing assessment and tocoordinate care.Maintain complete and current clinical records regarding all persons served.Achieve productivity goals as assigned.Perform duties in accordance with applicable professional ethics and standards as well as established OhioGuidestone policies.Comply with all state and federal laws regarding protected health informationADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAbility to use reflective practice throughout work and to participate in regularly scheduled reflectivesupervision.Scheduling flexibility, in order to meet with families and/or staff during early morning or evening hours.Strong communication skills.Strong observational skills and the capacity to see the work from an ecological perspective.Perform job duties in a manner that's friendly, considerate, and aligned with the agency's Mission,Vision, and Standards of Ethical Conduct.Organize and plan work for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.Utilize IT system and software programs in accordance with agency policy.Utilize time off in a manner consistent with agency policy.ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICSDemonstrate a current knowledge of mental health practices.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Demonstrate knowledge of community resources and partnerships available for persons served.Demonstrate the ability to effectively function as an OhioGuidestone team member.Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.Possess and demonstrate effective organizational skills.Demonstrate the ability to customarily and regularly exercise discretion and good professional judgment.PHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical demands described are representative of those that must be routinely met by an employee tosuccessfully perform he essential duties of this position.
