Job Description:

Large scale hog processor--is looking for an experienced, motivated, and dedicated Superintendent--with fresh meat processing experience----that can manage, supervise, direct, and ensure that the night shift operation consistently meets and/or exceeds production schedules and overall standards of quality assurance of products and workplace safety are met daily. The ideal candiate will have experience with fresh pork production.--RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee and demonstrate thorough knowledge of the operation process to the shift production operations.Responsible for supervising daily production activities ensuring efficient and successful daily production.--Create a culture of safety and teamwork throughout the facility.--Ensure compliance with GMP, USDA, HACCP, SSOP, SAFETY and OSHA standards.--Support operations to improve efficiencies and help reduce costs.--Perform incident investigations as needed.Participate in daily product audits to identify opportunities for improvement.Perform Customer Complaints investigations and implement corrective actions.Investigate internal/external food safety/quality process deviations identify and implement corrective actions.Observe production processes and ensure that all SOPs are established, followed, and continually improved.Monitor area KPI's for variance vs target and make corrective actions.Use Continuous Improvement tools to identify and sustain processes.Execute and implement and ensure compliance to HACCP/SSOP, and Quality Control ProgramWork with maintenance on operational efficienciesEnsure all operational materials/supplies are available.Update and maintain a list of opportunities/action items and follow through to completion.Ensure timely production reportingSubmit work orders.Leadership Capabilities:Results oriented and have strong communication abilities with Management, Supervisors, employees, and other departments.Strong decision-making abilities.--Understand and incorporate HR policies and procedures.KNOWLEDEGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (Qualifications)Excellent leadership/managerial skillsBachelor's Degree Animal Science or related field preferred.Minimum 3 years' experience in protein manufacturing facility (Pork a PLUS).Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to influence, mentor and train.Ability to multi-task--Proficiency of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Teams)Position is based in Sandusky, Ohio.
