Job Summary:The Professional Counselor is responsible for helping clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems, seek to improve communication, and promote optimal mental health. Essential Functions:1. Develops a therapeutic relationship with each client2. Provides individual, group or family therapy as needed3. Provide CPST and minor case management functions if needed4. Completes all paperwork required by the agency within designated time framesCompetencies:1. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at once2. Good communication skills with both patients and coworkers3. Outstanding reading, writing and organization skills4. Detail-oriented personality5. Sense of responsibility and compassion6. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to help determine the cause of unusual allergic reactionsEducation and Work Experience:1. Bachelors degree in social work with a valid Ohio LSW2. Masters degree in social work, counseling, or related field is preferred.3. LPCC, MFT, LISW, or IMFT is preferred.Certificates and Licenses Required:1. Licensed Independent Social Worker OR LPCCPhysical/Mental Demands:Normal office environment. Work is typically performed at a desk or table requiring the use of standard office equipment. Intermittent sitting, standing and stooping. May view computer screen for long periods of time. Work may be stressful at times.
