Title: Monitor Technician - Telemetry Department Org: Telemetry - 110470 Employee Classification: B6 - Unclass Part Time AFSCME HSC Bargaining Unit: AFSCME HSC Primary Location: HSC H Shift: 3 Start Time: 7:00 pm End Time: 7:00 am Posted Salary: 19.78-23.25 Float: False Rotate: True On Call: False Travel: False Weekend/Holiday: True Job Description: Responsible and accountable for observation of all monitors in the central monitoring station, this includes 3 A-B-C-D, 4AB, 4CD, 5AB, 5CD, 6AB, 6CD; MICU, reporting any abnormalities, obtaining, routing, documenting, and accurately defining rhythm strips. Performs ECG tests on patients as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Indicate minimum required to qualify or perform this job.) Required Education/Experience/Licensing: 1. HSD or equivalent with completion of formal cardiac rhythm identification training including EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or a. Completed one year of the associate degree program in cardiovascular technology or have a minimum of 1 year experience in performing EKGs with the ability to recognize arrhythmias and/ or Telemetry Monitoring experience. 2. Successfully completes an arrhythmia test, with a 80% overall including 100% on the fatal arrhythmia section. 3. Preferred experience with EKGs and arrythmia identification 4. BLS Certification 5. Must be willing to work flexible hours 6. Physical requirements: a. visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable; b. ability to hear (with or without aides) c. ability to orally communicate d. good manual dexterity e. ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 30 pounds occasionally f. ability to stand, walk frequently g. ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently; and h. ability to perform CPR (if a required for position).
